Frequently asked questions

Millions of people order food and other goods through DoorDash. When customers place an order, we offer the deliveries to Dashers, who earn money by picking up and delivering them.

DoorDash is available and offers delivery gig jobs in over 60 cities across Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane,  the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth, Cairns and regional cities - with new cities launching regularly!

Our signup process is very fast and takes just a few minutes, and most Dashers can start earning within days. All you need is your documents handy so you can submit a free background check.

To earn money, all you need is a smartphone and a mode of transportation, such as a car, bicycle, bike, scooter, or motorcycle. We'll take care of everything else! No vehicle? Dash on a Zoomo e-bike and get 25% off your first 6 weeks of e-bike rental.

Nope. You can use any car to drive, deliver, and earn. You just need a valid driver's license and insurance.

Just tap the 'Already started signing up?' button at the top of this page, and log in using the email address and phone number you used to sign up.

If you're not quite finished, we'll prompt you for missing information. Otherwise you'll see the status of your signup. If you run into any issue when signing up, contact our friendly Dasher Support team.

You're the boss. As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility and freedom to drive whenever you want, wherever you want.

DoorDash offers a variety of delivery jobs, from restaurant pick-ups to grocery shopping and even convenience or flower shops!

You can earn up to $34/hr (average earnings may vary) and you can earn even outside of peak hours.

You can make it full-time, part-time, or once in a while -- and dash practically anywhere in Australia. It's a great alternative to seasonal, temporary, and part-time work.

Nope! You don't need any prior work experience. But if you do have previous experience in the rideshare, food, or courier service industries, delivering with DoorDash is a great way to earn money or make extra cash.

We welcome drivers, bikers and cyclists from other gig economy or commercial services such as Uber Eats, Amazon Flex, Menulog, Deliveroo. Dashers come from all backgrounds and industries, and include catering drivers, truck drivers, taxi drivers and hospitality or retail workers. Dashing is a great supplement to hourly roster jobs.

With delivery, there are two big differences:

  1. You don't have passengers in your car

  2. You can use any mode of transportation: your car (two doors is fine), bicycle, or motorcycle

It’s also a bit more active than ridesharing, as you get in/out of your car/bike to pick up and deliver the food.

Once you receive a delivery opportunity, you'll see where it is and how much you'll make, and can choose to accept or reject it. Once you accept, there are generally three steps, all of which are clearly outlined in the Driver app:

  1. Drive to the restaurant or store

  2. Pick up the food or goods. For grocery shopping orders, pick and pack the items.

  3. Drive to the customer to drop off the food or goods.
