Had never heard of jerk turkey wing had to give it a try and it did not disappoint!! Was spiced perfectly!! Rice peas and cabbage were a perfect complement. The stew chicken was so tender it melts in your mouth! Lemonade and Ginger Beer (on tap). Was extremely satisfying.
Giving 5 stars but sad I was missing the Irie Mambo Sauce. Was looking forward to tasting as a DMV native wanted to see if it held up to the original mambo sauce. Will order from here again when in town.

I rated this restaurant a 2 out of 5,. I would have rated it a 3, on this order, but the cabbage was not good at all. It was not seasoned and overcooked, limp. Nothing appealing about it. The oxtails (2 pieces) were a bit dry and there was no gravy, more bone than meat.
The rice and peas were ok. You could taste the coconut in which they were cooked. There were these big limabeans and scotch bonnet peppers. You could taste a hint of Caribbean spices/seasoning. If the oxtails and the entire dish had had gravy, my rating would be elevated to a 3.5. The cabbage was the major detractor and they were out of Mac and cheese.
I give a thumbs up to the jerk chicken wings. They were jerked well and my grandson liked them. I didnt care much for the plantains. I was expecting them to be a bit sweeter.
This was my first time trying Soul Rebel. I feel that they could be good if they tweak a few things like seasoning and cooking their cabbage better, improving their presentation (everything was the same dark color in the chicken wings and plantains, as well as the oxtails rice and peas) and adding gravy to their oxtais..
They show promise. I will probably order from them again, just to confirm my instincts.

The jerk chick tacos were delicious! It was so much meat on them which I loved. Just the right amount of jerk. And the plantains were delicious also not too mushy and a little crisp

Cabbage wasnt cooked atall and barely cut or prepped. The jerk needed more marinating and gravy was tender but dry and little jerk. I loved the Fried Plantains , they were the only edible item i bought for $29 aprx. The other menu seemed so intriguing and creative but I cant try bc simple jerk and steamed cabbage wasnt being cooked well.

Rasta pasta was good, super rich so it can be shared but $8 for one patty??? Crazy! Also no dip sauce for wings. Brown Stew Chicken was dry, needs more grav and very little cabbage given for $60+dollars. I want to support small business but this is a lot of money for stuff that doesnt taste great. Guess going have to just make it at home.
