I had high expectations given the reputation, and expectations were exceeded. Waffle was great, chicken was great. Waffle came with plenty of syrup- I like to drench my waffles, so that was a relief - syrup wasn't mentioned on the menu. Sausage patty is larger than typical. Everything was flavorful and rich.

OMG! Amazing food! It is hard to find really good southern food in the PNW, but the Screendoor is my new favorite spot. The greens - PERFECT! Mash potatoes and gravy - SUPERB! The fried chicken - EXCELLENT! This southern girl has finally found a place that knows how to do it right! I just needed some cornbread to dip in the pot liquor from the greens...next time for sure! I truly enjoyed my meal....tastes like home! Oh,,, and try dipping the chicken in the gravy! A mind blowing experience!

The Praline Bacon was acceptable. Nothing fantastic. Could have used more heat. The Fish 'n Grits were horrible. These are the thinest fish filets I've ever seen in my life. So it's 80% breading. Way overpriced for what it is. I heard all about the portion sizes being massive and that wasn't my experience at all.

I dont even take time usually to write reviews but this spot was excellent as someone who appreciates good bbq this is top 20 ribs of all time for me. The st louis were cooked perfectly not falling off the bone but tender and still had a bite. The beans fire the coleslaw fire corn bread moist but fire. I even ordered a salad to even out the big back rib meal I ordered. The beet salad was bomb my only regurt was not asking for extra dressing bc im a saucy fella but aside from that excellent dinner

This is my fourth delivery order from Screen Door since moving to Portland last month. I've yet to visit the actual restaurant. Every single time I order the chicken & waffles. The presentation is gorgeous and the chicken is juicy and crisp each and every time. It's like a gift every time I get more order. I accidentally ordered takeout this time and had to change it to delivery over the phone - helpful and friendly staff despite the busy brunch over. Don't hesitate!
