Got the large Mixed Suya Combo - LG to go and it was delicious. So fresh and generous portion. The plantains and the suya beef were the higglighs for me! Beef is so flavourful and spicy, and the plantains are soft and sweet. Really happy I tried this place

We did not enjoy- Not great taste (not Spicy -fire hot) amount of food was value to me about $10, not as combo meal $18, the side coleslaw is served in tablespoon condiment size. Plaintains dry, chicken tiny, will not go again

Items are not well structured online., it leaves so many rooms for interpretation, and that creates lots of confusion when ordering.
I ordered Egusi soup with the expectation that it comes with one pounded yam - as is normal in other restaurant, but i was wrong. I only found out when I added for extra pounded yam and my order was delivered via DoorDash without the extra pounded yam, was when I discovered that the store was only selling Egusi Soup only for the price posted online without delineating the items or itemization to properly guide customers to make the right choice and to enjoy their meal as needed.
What this means is that, if I hadn't ordered extra pounded yam, I would have gotten only Egusi soup with no pounded yam. It was a big shock to me and demoralizing to have spent your money for what you didn't ordered for.
Anyway, I got some kind of apology and assurance from the store to fix the error on their online outlet when I called them on the phone for explanation why my order wasn't fulfilled as agreed on the posted price? I think they have excellent customers service, just that the Egusi soup was on the brink of getting soured.
I love the restaurant and I've been there several times, either by myself or with four of my families, including my father/mother-in-law and sometimes with friends who visits from outside Ottawa and they have all love the Suya Palace.
Despite the little incident that happened today, March 28, 2026, that will not deter me from being a regular customer to this restaurant. They meal has always been "palatable" if that's even English, lol.
I love giving an honest review and to state facts as it is. The Egusi Soup that I had today, wasn't right there due to the slight sour taste, apart from that, they will always have my five star if that is allowed. Thank you, Suya Palace.
