wow! Despite having lived near Homestate for years, this was my first time enjoying their food. The Picadillo is a must try! We will definitely be coming back again and again.

I expected more from $6 tacos. Overall the ingredients tasted good, but the corn tortillas did not complement the tacos. The flour tortillas are very good and the best for most of the tacos on the menu.
Potatoes were very underwhelming. Guac was good.
In terms of authentic Austin taste, I'm hesitant to try their breakfast tacos since Austin really has those down but maybe those will be better than the anytime tacos.
The Band tacos at least have unique flavors and are full to get money's worth. I just don't see what the fuss is all about.

Have been a big fan of this place but a couple recent orders have been disappointing. My go to is the Neches w/Avocado. Two orders ago the avocado was stone unripe. Today my used-to-be lovely Neches arrived with globs of unmelted cheese and highly oversalted refrieds, thrown together like a Jackson Pollack painting. Don't get me wrong, I have no axe to grind: this was my 10th Neches order. But more care needs to be taken in the seasoning and prep. And please soften those squirrel frisbee potatoes into an edible state. Seriously.

Almost totally love this place. Great variety of fresh and flavorful tacos. Only caveat--those potatoes always seem old--like potato jerky--and coagulated. Soften those puppies up.

Today's order was a bit off from usual. The Queso was almost a fleshy pink color. Somewhat unappealing actually. The taste was off too. Bean and Cheese (The Frio) breakfast taco was good but was mostly bean. Guac was good, heavy on the lime though. Its been a while since I've ordered from here and unfortunately the inconsistency might keep me away.
