• 6/26/26T'chaka's oxtails are the best I've ever had. Generous portions, juicy, falling off the bone tender, and in a very savory gravy. Their plantains and rice and beans are also good, but the oxtails are the star. I've tried oxtails from other places, but T'chaka's are head and shoulders above.

• 1/10/26I have so much love for T'chaka. Whether in person or via delivery, their food is on point; so freaking flavorful. Love love love their fall off the bone tender Oxtails, the Griot , both the sweet and savory Fried Plantains, andJerk Chicken. Wish I could order their Diri djon djon for delivery, but definitely recommend if you go to their restaurant!

• 5/25/25I wanted to like but portions were so small, only 5 very small oxtails for $31 and the meat was so tough & stuck to the bones. It was really hard to eat. The meat on the tostones was also really tough. The rice and beans were so dry and had burnt hard pieces of rice in them. Was disappointed.

• 6/5/26at first I was put off by the high prices and not being able to find a working phone number that they would answer. I tried the number on their website and on Google maps multiple times each over a 20 minute period and couldn't get anyone.
I ordered via door dash anyway and I'll be honest: the food is good enough that I'll give it five stars despite the price and phone troubles
I've tried every Caribbean Oxtails dish I can find in the area and this is the one that feels the most like a home cooked meal. the amount of oxtail is the closest to fair for the price in the East Bay, unlike other places which are also pretty high priced but feel like significantly less oxtail per order while also not tasting as good as T'chaka.
the sides were all great and good sized portions as well. this is the only place I'll be getting oxtail from when that craving hits
the legume dish was also very tasty and I would get it again and be happy to try their other offerings.

• 2/29/24The Diri Ak Pwa is perfect. It's super good and flavorful. The Griot is fire. So flavorful and the pikliz is so good. Best food ever
