• 9/15/23as always, chen's is the best! Their taro buns are my favorite! never had a meal from them i didn't love. I often ask for extra chili oil when/if they've got it, and it usually works out. It's my own fault i can't get enough spice and nothing is spicy enough for me tho. I will need to invest in making some chili oil at home xD
really though, best food in Madison for the best price

• 1/27/26I think going in person is way better than ordering, it feels like you just walked into a foreign country and the atmosphere is so cool. Culture in there is unbeatable. Dumplings are a solid 8/10 but the noodle soup I had wasn't as great maybe like a 6/10. I'd go in person again.

• 5/18/26A state street classic. The pork and bok choy dumplings are so consistently good every time. The pork buns are always fluffy and warm. The scallion pancakes seem simple but have been my favorite for the past five years. I just tried the tempura for the first time bc it's just tempura, how good can it be, but it's FIRE and for three pieces (which is why I was hesitant to order them) they're pretty big. I've been ordering from here for five years and it's only gotten better.

• 2/15/26This was such a good vday takeout dinner. Although it's a little more expensive than irl, the amount of food is still honestly great. The noodles with egg and tomato were so hearty, absolutely will order a bowl for myself next time (soon)

• 8/27/24This restaurant was fantastic. I had an amazing experience. The workers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the vicinity was neat and pleasant. Furthermore, the food was wonderful. The noodles were homemade without any frozen ingredients as well as the broth. The taste was exquisite and gave me a sense of authentic Chinese cuisine. Overall, this is a place you must visit if you are visiting Madison.
