The food was sooo flavorful everything on my plate was yummy! The Mac and rice was slightly mushy but it taste so good I didn't mind. One plate is enough to feed 2 people or have some for later. Will definitely order again.

I had great expectations based off recent reviews. I spent over $70 on oxtails, mac and cheese, yams, Turkey chops, Red beans/rice, greens and Peach Cobbler. To say that the food was over salted is an understatement. I could not tell if the greens had too much vinegar, too much salt, or a combo of both. The Mac was salty and with not much flavor, not to mention cold in the middle. The rice was soft and mushy. Ox tails were ok, nothing special. No comment on the red beans and rice, as I did not have them. The peach cobbler was really not good at all. The crust was a flavorless blob and the peaches very hard. $10 is steep for such a small container, unless it is bowl licking good. Hate to leave a bad review, but perhaps ownership will make the necessary adjustments to keep their business going, and not lose customers who make conscious decisions where they spend their discretionary dollars.

This restaurant is amazing... I don't usually speakthis highly on a restaurant, but I was reading the reviews and it had me second guessing my decision. When i received my order my oxtails were amazing. They gives you a lot of food. Everything was hot and i ordered it with DoorDash. I wish i could give more stars. Only people i know that can make oxtails as good as this is my mom. Hands down!!

i really wanted a win for this spot as it is close to my house.....Unfortunately the chicken was cooked in old grease, the sweet potatoes had a weird taste and texture.
Oxtails were not tender.
Red bean and rice not a good flavor.
Mac and cheese was good.
Had a similar order from Cultured Soul a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic so I wanted the same for Throwdown Soul!

The oxtails were fantastic, the Mac n cheese was a little salty. The yams were not that appetizing however once I added some sugar, nutmeg, and butter it was tasty. The portions are nice sizes. Tender oxtails* Served with rice & gravy and your choice of two additional sides

I would order the oxtails again and the gravy and rice it came with.
