• 3/14/23Absolutely amazing EVERY TIME- the Chicharrones are my go to...a perfect balance of tender and crisp! Tostones are included in the meal as well (they taste similar to crushed, deep fried potatoes but much BETTER) + it's definitely worth the price since I'm usually left with some for the next day ;D The Rice and Bean Corn Flour Empanada is also worth checking out!

• 7/17/26The rice was terrible, the chicken was overcooked or sitting around for a while, it was hard and definitely didn't taste fresh. STAY AWAY FROM THE ARROZ CON POLLO. Also for the amount they charged the portion is small.

• 2/8/26I had no idea these empanadas were so big! They were SO delicious and the Chicken Soup was absolutely DIVINE. I'm jealous we don't have Empanada Mama in Baltimore, but I'll be back in NYC next month and I'll definitely be ordering more from this place!

• 5/4/24Very surprised by this place. I ordered Chicharrones, not expecting much. But the box was HEAVY. Thinking it would be mostly sides like tostones; to my surprise, it was filled with a generous amount of perfectly well done chicharrones, and a generous amount of lime. You know it's the real deal when they give limes on the side.
Was surprisingly not a fan of the El Toro empanada, but that is not to deter others from trying. It was well cooked, had very hefty amounts of meat, and overall, up to par. I personally was just not a fan of the choice of spices, but can still see the appeal.

• 8/3/26I bought Cheese Pizza empanada and ngl that cheese pull is GLORIOUS. Really delicious, and probably my favorite empanada from this restaurant. :) Tastes great with the green sauce as well. Highly recommend!
