• 5/8/25The Queso Dip is so dang good.. rich and cheesy with a few jalapeño pops...
the Enchiladas Verdes tangy with a bit of spice .. I had it with chicken..so good
Guacamole Scoop was teeny but great flavor.. I wishi would have got the bigger one.
The Salsa has great flavor, but is spicy!!
Im a salt freak so I had to add salt to my dishes.

• 6/30/25Food was so good, all of it. The 4 Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers were a good size and cooked to perfection. I loved the Enchil Verdesadas as well. Everything was super fresh and I will 100% keep it in memory next time I'm ordering Mexican food

• 9/17/26I fell in love with Tonala when I moved to Tacoma more then 5 yrs ago, im not sure if management has changed but the food just isn't the same. It's lost that authentic feel, the Arroz Con Pollo had way to much lime and oregano in it with no depth and the Salsa (which you dont get to choose between red or green) was bland, again heavy on the lime that just really drowned out the other flavors of onion, tomatillo, garlic and absolutely no pepper or heat at all....truly sad. The chips were fresh but completely unsalted, they'll work for dipping in my refried beans but ill definitely have to doctor up the rest of my meal before continuing

• 7/9/22I love this restaurant. The side order chicken chalupa is the BEST deal ever and is delicious!! Also amazing tacos Al carbon. Yum!

• 12/4/23menu items don't match pictures. nachos are basic for the price, Carne asada is basic for the price. better off at matzatlan. at least there you get what you pay for.
