A wonderful first meal in NOLA. The Taste of New Orleans was wonderful, and my wife loved the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. I can't say this enough: Don't even think about skipping dessert here. The Bread Pudding and Pecan Pie were perfect. A culinary 10/10.

The picture Brittany took of her RED BEANS AND RICE WITH CRISPY CHICKEN that's legit how it's going to look. I thought it be like the picture. It's not spicy at all, similar to refried beans and rice.
I also got the BOWL of CHICKEN & ANDOUILLE GUMBO was a palm sized cup so I can't even fathom what a cup size would look like. But 20+ for gumbo no chunks of meat or vegetables really. Maybe you have to actually eat at the location to enjoy it but. Kinda upsetting. Won't order again. Maybe a bad night.

the fried shrimp platter was absolutely delicious! I ordered the TASTE OF NEW ORLEANS trio. One tiny cup of rice to spit between 3 rice accented dishes was criminal! I could barely tell the difference between the chicken and sausage gumbo and the red beans and rice both in look and in taste! The crawfish etoufee was good and out of the 3 was the only one that could be identified just by looking at it. I also got a side of catfish with the FRIED SHRIMP PLATTER, the fish was barely seasoned and was far from crispy on the fry. Overall, I would give this visit to Mambo's a 2.5 out of 5. I may try it again, just because there is no way that people had it rated as highly as they did if what I received was normal for them!

I knew I wanted gumbo tonight and this happened to be a place I saw in a reel on Instagram I think and I never leave a review but got dang this meal was delicious and it arrived warm and incredible. Bread was fluffy, rice was flavorful, everything seasoned to perfection. And the portion size is totally worth it. I would absolutely order again and will definitely be going to the actual location after a meal like this.

Overpriced DUCK WONTONS for sure. They taste decent but only 5 ?! They should be cheaper or bigger.
