I've always said: "there's not competition in Gainesville for La Maracucha". I love their Patacones. The food is fresh and made to order, and the portions are big enough for a horse-lol-

The tequenos are the size of baby carrots. So, $14 for 5 baby carrots worth of bad fried cheese. The shredded beef empanada tasted like a frozen dinner cooked in the microwave. This place used to be so amazing and has gone completely downhill. And per usual, they forgot my drink.

I travel to Gainesville for work months at a time. I work for the largest food service contractor in the world and we joke about the culinary waste land that is Gainesville. I'm Venezuelan and have lives in different areas of the states over the years so I have a prettt good recollection of top Venezuelan restaurants in this country. The toqueños here are the very best, 100% authentic flavor, you can tell the cheese is top quality and that the dough is made with love.
