Born & breaded in Texas

Got the 5 Finger Meal* deal. I truly don't understand the hype. I've ordered from here twice, same meal. The first time, I believe 2 or 3 of the chicken fingers were fairly decent tasting, and the rest were completely bland and the chicken tasted off. The second time, only one of the five had flavor, and the rest were very bland and off-tasting. I also dislike how easily the breading sloughs off the chicken. The gravy dip is also pretty bland. The sweet tea was good both times, but comes almost warm, because they don't use enough ice. The plastic cups are cool. Thick and sturdy. Not cheap like everywhere else these days. The delivery containers are also well made. Fries are pretty good; they come hot and crispy. Think I'm done trying with this restaurant, though. When I get comfort food like chicken fingers, I expect them to be well seasoned.

The flavor was definitely there the portion size was definitely worth the price and was fresh I would order again but the pasta was a bit mushy and wish it had more sauce but overall 8/10 will definitely try other food items on the menu?

We love Layne's! Not a huge menu but that's OK because what they do have on the menu is done very well. Think of it as a higher quality version of Cane's and slightly higher price. The fries are fantastic! Really love their fries! However, if you're looking for a very crispy fry? These may not be for you.
Highly recommend the Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce to go with the chicken fingers, which I'm really pleased that they're always a good size. There is a bit of variance in quality though as some days we'll get some pretty crispy, dark brown chicken fingers and other days will be a softer fried, golden brown chicken finger. To me? I prefer the latter which seems to be the defacto way they are to be cooked and served at Layne's, but just be advised that there are times you'll get an order that's a little more crispy. TX toast is amazing!

Shake was not just completely melted, but room temperature and I only live 3 miles away. The Texas toast was floppy and the "side" of ketchup was one tiney packet. The chicken was fine, also a bit limp rather than crispy as were the fries. Overall, I'm going back to Cane's.

Tastes almost identical to Cane's, so good, especially the cookie; it's great. Get some; you won't regret it. The chicken is so juicy, and mixed with the sauce, it makes it perfect.
